Cabinteely Park - The Family Park With Weird Monuments and Loads of Greenery in South County Dublin

 



If you are new to Dublin then there are a very few places that I would be recommending you to visit like Howth, Dun Laoghaire, Phoenix Park etc., but a place which I was being recommended by many parents and friends was the Cabinteely park located in the south of Dublin right next to the N11 highway in Dublin 18.

How to reach there:

  • If you coming from the city center in a bus, take the bus route number 66
  • If you coming by car then it will be on the left side if coming from the south side on N11 highway opposite to the Cabinteely post office.

What to do there:
  • The park has immense amount of green space for families and young couples to enjoy 
  • You can have a picnic on sunny day 
  • You can bring your children and play in park. The water irrigation well is especially amazing for the kids
  • See the 7 monuments of ghosts and ghastly people 


Downsides of the park:

  • There are very or few benches for people to sit
  • Washrooms are scarce
  • Only one canteen and no food options available
  • You cannot do cycling in the park

What to take with you:
  • If you have kids, then definitely take extra pair of clothes
  • Take wellies (water proof plastic shoes) for the kids for the mud puddle
  • A mat for pinic
  • FOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
  • Rain coat - As if you did not know yet :)

  Dublin has its fair share of rain and wet weather and since I have been here, funny that I saw people getting out when the sun shines which is quite the opposite of what I experienced back in Pakistan. It was boring Sunday on the 30th of August 2020 and I wanted to do something fun. Out came Google maps and I found that there is a beautiful hiking trail in the opposite side of the city to where in live in Howth. This village in Dublin is one of the most posh and affluent areas in Ireland (no doubt such beauty exists there).  Reaching there at 2 Pm after leaving my home at 12 noon,  I hiked along the pathway for about 1.5 hours and enjoyed, which I can surely say was probably the best day in Dublin so far. I literally has sang junoon songs from my childhood to even singing summer of 69 by Bryan adams. A Walk On The Dublin Beach - In The Age Of Corona Lockdown

It was sunny beautiful day in Dublin and while sitting amidst a lock-down all over the world I felt I needed to explore the city a bit more. The Irish authorities have imposed a 2 km walking perimeter but never did I know despite being here for a month that the beach was sitting in my back yard. I was bored yesterday and I went down to towards the sandymouth beach area and here I found the gem. While walking I saw many couples walking and enjoying their run and even playing with the K9 buddies. At 8 Pm I saw some ducks and a beautiful sunset reminding me of the time I enjoyed in Pakistan taking my daughter out for viewing ducks and birds. Checkout the video above...

A visit to Dublin's Phoenix Park - Nature, adventure and wild Deers [Video]

Being in a  new country and especially in this lock down can be pretty daunting and mentally stressful considering you don't have family with you. I cam to Dublin in March of 2020 and since then I have been mesmerized by the sheer number of beautiful places in Ireland. Last time I shared my experience about the Sandymount beach in Dublin  and this time I will be giving you the mesmerizing experience about Europe largest Wild Animal Park, which is none  other than Phoenix park. Spread over 60 hectares this park contains not only 10000+ trees but is surrounded by 5 mountains and off course it has a lot of deers. The park has 5 sections and let me not talk much on the park itself but show you an amazing video. Fun facts: Did you that the President of the United States lives in the American Ambassadors residence which is located in Phoenix park?
